Tribal Spay/Neuter Program
May 7, 2016
Since March 18th, 2016, Dog Town has been able to provide 32 spays/neuters for residents of the Fallon Tribal Colony, Stillwater Reservation and Walker River Reservation. We consider this to be an amazing response to our first attempt at reducing the number of unwanted dogs in our community.
Thanks to our generous friends, we should be able to continue this life saving program indefinitely.
~~~~~Our Persian Connection~~~~~
In April, 2015 we were contacted by a local person who had ties to the rescue community in Tehran, Iran. At that time we agreed to take both Aidin and Baran into our rescue. As part of an international rescue effort, both dogs were flown to us (all funds were raised by the rescue in Tehran) and from then, we have taken in five dogs, referred one to Peace of Mind Rescue in Carmel, CA ( she was adopted) and through our facebook page, we were able to connect one little guy with his adopter.
We look forward to continuing our small part in a global effort to save the street dogs of Iran. They would face a very bleak future, were it not for the courage and tireless efforts of a small group of animal lovers.
We encourage anyone interested in learning more about this amazing rescue group to check out their facebook page. Just click on this icon to be taken to their page ---------->
